We have a fabulous antique market in Portland that I like to visit occasionally.
I usually go to their spring and fall shows and their garage sale at the beginning of the year.
This year, I found a $25 quilt.
Well, sort of a quilt. It was more like a duvet cover.
The quilt had been sewn to the backing right sides together, and one end was open. The blanket was just wadded up inside.
After I got it home, you could see an indentation of a large hoop and a needle and thread in the center! I'm so glad I didn’t poke myself when I carried that poor thing around the market!
I cut the backing off and threw the “blanket” and backing away. And gave her a good soak. She was just a little dirty.
She was a hard one to part with, but I just can’t keep every quilt I rescue (plus, if I’m being honest, I have a longarm machine to pay for). LOL
